Today I want to chat about Kombucha. That is obviously entirely unrelated to these Banana Oatmeal Cookies, however I know you won't obey.

Let me begin by saying that my husband beverages apple cider vinegar mixed with water every morning to decrease inflammation or anything like that.

He claims it is magical. I claim it is nasty.

While I know this will seem spectacular (cause it is), I actually dry heave at the sight and odor of his early ritual to a daily basis. He loves that about me.

Depending upon this response, one would feel I would stay far away from Kombucha, right? I suggest, after all, it definitely has a vinegary tang.

However, for whatever reason, I continue trying it. I Would like to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

I am really a marketer's dream cause every single time I see someone I know loving a sip, or even simply denying their favourite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I'm all,"Maybe you will actually taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the word appreciating cause I find it difficult to think this stuff is actually enjoyable in almost any sense of the word.

And spoiler alert. Not one of them taste great. None.

Even those that people claim are light are a huge no-go for me. They taste like freaking sweet vinegar.

I'm basically sure that anybody who drinks this fermented tea material gets zero taste buds, or seriously funky ones.

I've literally tried every single brand that my local market conveys and that I HATED, maybe not overdone, HATED each one.

From no bake biscuits and easy sugar cookies to those banana oatmeal biscuits, it has turned into a love affair that has gone on here at MBA for nearly a decade now.

While I'm not claiming these banana oatmeal biscuits will be the least wholesome (cause hello butter and sugar ), I'm claiming that they are delicious.

They have the ideal quantity of banana taste and a beautiful chewy feel thanks to its oats. The chocolate chips are just an added bonus.

I enjoy these biscuits somewhat on the side, so I bake them for 9 or 10 minutes. If you want these to be cooked through, I would shoot for 10-11 minutes.

I will say that the oats almost makes them seem like a breakfast cookie, therefore they are all kinds of amazing having a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the afternoon.

I'd add some chopped peppers to a batch instead of chocolate chips, however everybody definitely chosen the chocolate chips over the nuts.

These cookies are a great way to use up those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter at the moment. I will not even tell anybody that they're not actually breakfast cookies. Enjoy!




1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup pops flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350°F.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a big bowl with an electric mixer, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and blend in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add the skillet Full Article and vanilla.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.

Use a moderate cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to scoop the dough on prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then gently press the shirts of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Because these cookies don't spread much, this will help give them a conventional cookie form.
